Network scanning by InternetData

You likely reached this page after seeing connection attempts from an IP whose reverse DNS resolves under io.internetdata.io. That traffic is part of our benign, automated internet measurement, not an attack on your systems.

What we're doing

We measure the public configuration of the internet (which hosts respond on which ports and protocols) to build accurate IP intelligence data. Every probe originates from an identifiable host whose reverse DNS points back to this domain.

Is this harmful?

No. We send a small, single probe per host, honor exclusion lists, and never attempt to log in, access private data, exploit a vulnerability, or disrupt any service. Per destination the traffic is minimal, typically a single packet.

How to identify our scanners

The reverse-DNS (PTR) record of each scanning IP resolves to a hostname under io.internetdata.io, and that hostname resolves back to the same IP (forward-confirmed reverse DNS).

How to opt out

Email support@internetdata.io with the IP ranges or ASN you would like excluded, and we will remove them from our scans, typically within one scan cycle.
